Digital Photography
During this photographic course you will become familiar with:

The digital camera menu: Automatic (A), Program (P), Shutter Priority (S), Aperture Priority (Av), and Manual (M) exposure settings. White balance, resolution settings, camera flash, auto focus and macro setting.
The control of ISO, aperture and shutter speed. Their relationship with each other and their adjustment in determining correct exposure.
Elements of photographic composition and image structure.
The aesthetics of monochrome and colour photography, and the development of an individual style.

- Digital camera handling
- Downloading images to the computer
- Basic image adjustment using digital darkroom techniques
- Re-sizing and saving images

- Introduction to the workshop
- Camera handling and exposure: Basic principles. Choice of ISO.
- Shutter speed, aperture, depth of field. Problems with exposure measurement.
- Camera exposure modes: Automatic, Semi automatic and Manual.
- Illustrated brief on practical exercise No.1
- Shoot practical exercise 1
Session 2
- Digital darkroom: Photoshop CS. Downloading images, production of contact sheet and slide show.
- analysis of group images
- Illustrated lecture: Camera exposure modes: Aperture priority, Shutter priority, Manual.
- Recap basic theory of photography
Session 3
- Visual communication: Essentials of composition and aesthetics
- Illustrated brief on practical exercise No.2
- Shoot practical exercise 2
- Download images
Session 4
- Digital darkroom: Photoshop CS. Image adjustment and correction
- Analysis of group images
- Recap of theory
- General discussion and questions
- Closure and presentation of certificates of attendance
Entry Requirements
Note: There are no academic requirements to participate in this programme. The only entry requirement is for the participant to be 18 years or over.
In order to fully benefit from the workshop, you will need to bring with you a digital camera. It is recommended that your camera is not fully automatic preferably one which has manual, or semi-automatic exposure modes.

Credit Based Student Loans
These loans are available only to SAE Roumanian students with good credit and may require a co-signer. They may be used to fully or partially fund educational costs.
