Sound for Film Production
Description
This course is designed to give students a solid understanding of the production and postproduction process for the film and television industries. Students develop the knowledge and skills required to produce content for television programmes, commercials, music videos and feature films.
Learning Outcomes
This comprehensive course is delivered using both the PC and MAC platforms. The course covers a variety of industry hardware and software including Pro Tools, Nuendo and Final Cut Pro. As well as the technical aspects of training, the course also focuses on the mechanics of the industry, specific working practices, and soft skills and cross-disciplinary roles.
Pre-requisites
By interview. Some understanding of basic audio or music production is preferred, but not essential.
Target
If you want to bring your skills right up to date or expand on your current skills as a sound engineer then this course is for you. Suitable for beginners, degree post graduates and those with relevant experience or education, the course starts from first principles, and requires little or no prior knowledge.
Employment Opportunities
Successful candidates leave the course equipped with the essential skills needed in both the film and postproduction industries. Possible employment opportunities include Audio Editor and Assistant Engineer. You will be able to shoot, edit and produce content to broadcast standard.
